I hemmed and hawed about what to do with my 1,000th post -- just another post, pick a topic I found particularly good, add to the 1,000 posts thread in Meta, just let it pass by, etc. -- until it hit me:

I went from 2 posts in my first 12 months here to 1,000 in the past six months, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here. This is a great place, and I'm very glad to be a part of it. That's not something I'd say lightly.

There are a lot of good people and topics on these boards. Sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed by the number of topics. (I don't have time to read everything. Maybe Crothian does. Of course there are rumors that Crothian exists outside normal space-time, but he has not confirmed that he has any knowledge of chronomancy. )

I've heard that Crothian just has a macro set up that posts random sentences at random intervals in random threads. He just checks in once a month or so to check his post count. Then he goes to sleep, content in his place as the #1 poster.
