Heh. Well, I play a Bard. I even created a Prestige Class and used a bit of material from the Enchiridion. I even created a few Mystic Music affects for the campaign. So, I can see where there might still be some room for growth to explore the Bard in a little more detail.
Krug - Thanks for passing it on to The Sigil.

Sorry for the delay... I've been home with a NASTY cold this past weekend. Well, it wasn't that bad by itself, but caring for my two kids, who ALSO had colds made it nasty.
Well, here's a bit of an idea how it went from 74 to 144 pages (or, "where did the extra 70 pages come from?")
The first obvious answer: the inclusion of artwork (as most of you will recall, I had no artwork in the original release). If you compare the "art-filled" version with the "no art at all" version, you'll immediately notice a difference of 6 pages. So there's a little bit of added room.
The second answer... trying to fill in some of the stuff I felt was "missing" from the original... for example, a section on bardic troupes/orchestras. While not overwhelmingly large, this section did add 4 pages. I tossed in a few more Feats and Prestige Classes, with probably added another 6 pages or so.
Then there were a few flavor things. There's a 10-page section on the Nine Muses, with a brief breakdown of each Muse's favored area of "musical art" and another 4 pages of original sheet music (for player handouts, for example). The total amount of added notes and tips needed to make this both 3.0 and 3.5 compatible probably took up a page. I added a section (via sidebars) that deals with role-playing a "Harrier" - a combat-support-type who specializes in making conditions difficult for opponents (e.g., using tanglefoot bags and various "anti-buff" spells). This probably adds another page or two. I also added a few little "knick-knacks" and "one-shot magic items" here and there. Maybe another 5 pages or so.
There's 35+ pages of the added 70 right there...
I also tossed in more spells and mystic music abilities, as well (many OGC pulled from other sources, but including some new ones). That's probably the rest of the "new weight."
Most of this was just "adding in the kitchen sink" and, especially with regard to the artwork, making one last stab at making this bad boy look nice and "professional" (whatever that means). It probably got a little bigger than it should have been, though.
I basically did this as a "last hurrah" for the Enchiridion of Mystic Music. I've had idea fragments floating around in my head since I originally penned it. This contains all of them, polished up enough to be presentable, and rolled together into one big package. Maybe it's a mite too big. But I'd rather have "too much" than "not enough" myself.
If you have any more specific questions, I welcome them. In retrospect, I think I overdid it. But I finally felt closure when I pushed it out... and for me, that was the most important thing. The "not quite finished" feel has been there since I put it out almost 2 years ago and I kept going back and picking at it. That didn't happen with the Enchiridion of Treasures and Objects d'Art, for instance. Now the EoMM feels "complete" and I can stop picking at it. For me, as an "artist" (how I hate using that term), that's satisfaction.
Besides, it now means I can crack open the Quintessential Bard (which I bought when it was released but have been scrupulously avoiding opening so as to not cross-pollinate the two).
