Encounter too hard? (My players out)

The PCs have an extremely good advantage: the scout.
The mage and the skeletons have poor spot and listen.

They should know about this combat and decide when to fight and how (although they can't decide where)

About tactics:
-Summon Monster II is useful if you cast it at the rear of the party, hopefully engaging the mages.
-Web seems a much better spell in a dungeon. You can split, trap and block with one spell. Sweet. Cast it after some of the party members get into the room and voilá!
