Week 2, Finding a Clue

The town was clearly troubled, but what was the party to do? Well, The missing people lived right next door, and they were more important than missing property... So the party started asking around.
But nobody seemed to know much. The party was getting nowhere, until they heard about a fight that had ruined the Winsome Wench Inn. With no other leads they decided to look it over.
The inn was a wreck, but the party decided to look around the unappealing prospect. And they found something, fortunately before they found the party.
3 bullywugs tried to jump the party, which managed to spot them just in time as they went down the stairs to a basement. Deciding the situation might be bad for them, they opted to retreat, but the bullywugs were too fast for them and melee was joined. The monk distinguished himself by thrusting himself to the front of the party, and spent the rest of the fight being knocked down, cured by the cleric, and being knocked down again. However he got off one big attack that seriously hurt all 3 of the enemy.
The others attacked and one by one, the bullywugs went down.
Talking to the prisoners produced only limited clues. They were too scared of the lizard goddess [which was a bit odd since they were frog types, not reptiles. Of course, the gods are always copies of their worshipers, but...] They took the prisoners to the constable, who suggested they check a local swamp, but they found nothing there. Going to the local lords led to the suggestion the the town druid might know something, which he didn't but one of his assistants might, while complaining the assistant had been neglecting his religious duties of late.
Finding the assistant, they realized he was lying to them. Having no power to press him they chose to shadow him. This led to talking with a merchant, who vanished in the night. [The innkeeper gave a suspicious explanation. When pressed, he admitted he know something, but he would not be able to tell them anything until the next night. Again, having no way to insist on a quicker answer, they agreed.
The day passed without them getting any more clues, and so they are now approaching the Golden Grain Inn, hoping for some answers. At least, they have had time to heal their wounds.
