Endurance Feat effects?

Hello, my dwarf had to take the Endurance feat in order to qualify for a prestige class (silly isn't it? I mean I already have a 20 Constitution) It says I get a bonus of a +4 on rolls like running, swimming, holding my breath, etc.

Where are the rules on those things? I can't seem to find them in the PHB. Does anyone know how long a character can hold their breath, swim, or run normally? Or more importantly when a check is called for?

IIRC, the swimming rules/holding breath are in the DMG. The phb should have the rules for running in the movement section.
