I had a very strong group of nine. Geff Warlock 3 Tabaxi. Robin Ranger 4 halfling. JD Wizard 4 gnome. Felonious Assault rogue 1 cleric 3 human. Mira Abberont Mind Sorcerer 3 elf. Zalramar Bard 1 Fire Goliath. Izzy evoker Wizard 3 Tiefling. Galloway Sorcerer 3 Tiefling.
LEAP SOUND.
AL in full admiral getup, “We have a new person in the chamber Gooshie. Are you Sam?”
Izzy, “Izzy the Magician.”
AL, “And you not a demon? And how did you get that cowboy hat over? Through your horns? Never mind! Gooshie said you were a dwarven team send in search of Brother Trasig. He went to check out a local quarry about a rumor of zombies. He and you never returned and two weeks later thousands of undead flooded out the quarry.” LEAP SOUND.
The quarry is built into the mountain. It is marble quarry in current use. Huge walls of marble are arranged like bad city blocks. Nine miners are still working the mine.
Izzy, “I thought the AL dude said something about zombies?”
Felonious, “Those five by the left block are zombies. The other four are not sure of. I heading for the shadows.”
JD, “What do guys attack, flank, run away.”
The foreman approaches Izzy, “UM. Um. UM. UM!” and gestures toward a clip board.
Izzy, “What do you want. Speak Common.”
JD, “What do guys attack, flank, run away.”
Foreman, “UM. Um. UM. UM!”
Izzy, “You want me to sign in?”
Foreman shakes his head yes and shoves the clipboard at Izzy, “UM. Um. UM. UM!” Izzy signs in and as she walks away she is handed a pick axe. The foreman approaches JD.
JD, “What do guys attack, flank, run away. What do you want?”
Foreman, “UM. Um. UM. UM!” waves the clipboard at JD.
JD, “See I working here. I am holding the wheelbarrow for the others here. Can’t you speak?”
DM, “No the foreman ghast has no tongue.” JD signs the clipboard. The foreman walks toward Mira who is looking at the first group of zombies.
Mira, “The two starting from the left aren’t Mr. T.” He quickly signs in on the clipboard.
Felonious, “Turn undead and only the one zombie runs away. I fade into the darkness.”
JD, “What do guys attack, flank, run away.”
Galloway, “The Foreman is not Mr. T. Maybe he deeper into the quarry.”
Zalramar, “The fourth zombie is not Mr. T.”
JD, “I don’t see Mr. T. I think we should attack.” Felonious starts the ball. Two ghasts take out Izzy and shuffle toward the group. While the group is taking care of ghouls and zombies, the foreman shoulders the dying Izzy over his shoulders and dunks behind a wall of marble. Felonious drops the ghast as Galloway runs up to attack from behind.
Galloway, “EW. Greasy Ghast Guns all over our wizard.” The group cleans up and JD sends his duck familiar to check out the rest of quarry. A wagon is being guard by three skeletons. A quick battle conference later. Galloway, Geff, and Zalramar are going up the center, and the rest will attach from above.
The second fight begins. The first skeleton drops immediately. The other takes damage as center group break cover. Galloway charges but slips on something, the woman inside the wagon is providing covering fire. The slip causes the shot to miss Galloway but hit Geff. The other skeletons drop but with no line of sight on the woman, the topside group start attacking the cover of the wagon.
Sarbrindar, “Die and join ORCUS, Ms. Galloway. Die and” and the wight is around long enough to get in a good monologue. Galloway finds a prayer bead smash on her shoe. The bead belongs to Brother T…
Group, “Mr. T”.
Following the trail to a secret chamber they find Mr. T body on the altar of Orcus. The freshly painted murals of failure make Izzy cry. While everyone is wondering what happen, Felonious gets a ghostly hug.
Ghostly, “She crying over her failure. Such a pity. You feel nice.”
Felonious, “No touching. I don’t know you sir. Show yourself.”
A succubus appears out the blue and hugs Felonious more. “We could kill your companions and make love on their bodies.”
Felonious, “One oversharing. Two Kinky but not my Kink. Three they not all my companions.” Having shaken off the failure aura, everyone but Izzy feels double strength. They attack.
Succubus, “naughty word that hurts. Spin with me darling.” She shapeshifts to an exact copy in the same square. With a different type of mirror image up the party is confused.
Geff, “What is my mother’s name.”
Felonious 1, “Your real mother or character’s mother?”
Zalramar, “What something I would know about you but the succubus won’t know?”
Felonious 2, “How would I know you just a new pc?”
Galloway, “Lighting damage coming on line for 41 points of damage.” The succubus drops.
Felonious, “How did you know?”
Galloway, “Got lucky. Besides. If dropped you we had three rounds to kill it and save you. If didn’t drop you, you would stab and nearly kill it. And if we divide our shots, we would drop both of you. Killing the succubus and giving you a healing potion. The DM wouldn’t do DM shenanigans when death on the line.
DM NOTES. This had great line of sight can be problems or solutions. But the monsters included did not have any real line of sight powers.
