Enemy Among Us (DM: Stringbean2142, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

[sblock=ooc]It is intentionally hard. There will be rewards for varying degrees of success if you don't complete it. You can start rolling now, while you take them back to the village.[/sblock]

My purpose is direct and simple, mental maintenance, if everyone insists on "saving" these vegetables, I'll need to know what method you'd like used. The bodies should be well on their way to recovery after my progress, and I'll attempt to nurture the spark of intellect beyond basic body functions, Veruzak begins extending his inner arcane energy, touching each husks mind, probing for a way to psychically defragment and repair the mental connections. Tendrils of arcana show a physical sign of the connection.

[sblock=OOC]

At +12 arcana, looking for an assist. Willing to assist if someone has a better plan.

Martelai notices Veruzak's concentration and aids him, his knowledge of human psyche helping guide socialy inept wizard toward hidden parts (similar to Veruzak's retreat room) of mind where those people maybe still cowering.

As the part moved towards town, Bell looks on in great interest taking the arcanists' every move.

[sblock=ooc]Bell has an Arcana 9 and a History 9. So far History has been no good, and probably will be a secondary skill more than anything. She also has a Streetwise 8.

I'm hoping when we get to town a good Streetwise might make a new History check viable. Other wise, I'm probably assisting.[/sblock]

Martelai, if what you're saying is correct, it's much like having a civil conversation... I'm glad you're here to help, I'd have never thought of that... Bell, stop gawking and contribute. Either help me with the minds, or Atlas with the bodies, but standing slack-jawed ogling our work isn't proactive.

[sblock=OOC]

I'm going to hold off on my roll until Bell is confirmed to assist Veruzak with the arcana roll, or someone else with a differing roll.

I'll wait until I get out of work tonight, if no one else has assisted Veruzak by then, he'll make the roll with Martelai's assistance (+2, and Veruzak's +12, must roll a 4 or higher.)

Bell snaps to attention, her cheeks flush at the embarrassment of being called out for not pulling her own weight. She begins to mimic the wizard's actions, though she still did not fully understand the practice.

[sblock=ooc]10 to assist.[/sblock]

Perfect Bell, hold them just like that. The tendrils begin quickly reassembling lost, and repairing damaged, receptors. I'm going to start with basic maintenance, and repair. After I've built a good mental foundation to keep the body alive, we can work on restoring full function.

Atlas takes an different approach to cure the victims. He fetches a clipboard made of black stone from his backpack and a small piece of chalk.

Turning to one of the victims to work on, he ignites a sunrod and kneels next to it. Moving the sunrod in front of the softlings eyes to check how the light source might affect the creature and if there is any reaction at all.

Noting what happens with his chalk on the clipboard he decides it must be best to turn the softling around and examine the back of the head, where the "spiders" supposedly enter their minds and altered them. He examines the area closely and with his expertise notices some foreign tissue. Putting knowledge into action he opens a small bottle containing a clear liquid and cleans a small blade. He then makes an incision and removes what he finds to not be a part of the humans anatomy.

" Look at what I found inside the victims head " and he shows them the infected human tissue he has cut out.
