Energy immunity, resist energy and protection from energy

Im curious about how they work together.

Can i have energy immunity(fire), resist energy(cold) and protection from energy(electricity) all active at the same time?

Yes.

You can also have resist energy (fire) and protection from energy (fire) both active at once, altho any fire damage you take is subtracted from the protection before its reduced by the resistance, so its not not as good a combo as it could be.
 

As far as i am aware yes, each elemental damage is a seperate thing to be warded against so something that wards off fire is a separate effect from that which wards off electricty and you can have both or all three in the case below

you just need to keep track of which spells that are in effect at any time

Diirk, you have a quote on that, I haven't heard that rule before.
 

It is in the spell's descriptions.
Note: Protection from energy overlaps (and does not stack with) resist energy. If a character is warded by protection from energy and resist energy, the protection spell absorbs damage until its power is exhausted.

They all work together just fine. You could also have Resist Energy (Cold), Resist Energy (Fire), and Resist Energy (Electricity) up at the same time and they wouldn't interfere with one another because they're protecting against different things.

Yes. One provides a bonus to your cold resistance, one provides a bonus to your fire resistance; no overlap. Much the same as casting the Create Magic Tattoo spell from Players Guide to Faerun on yourself twice and choosing different effects each time.
 

For extra fun, keep this in mind: Energy Immunity lasts 24 hours. Time it right, and yesterday's spell is still active while today's spell (with a different energy descriptor) is up.

My cleric would go nuts with Energy Immunity the evening before a major dungeon dive. He'd use all of his 6th level, 7th level, and 8th level slots to protect the entire party from virtually everything. Great fun.
