For 3.5 enlarge person, it's underpriced. 100% growth, +2 Str, increased reach, increased damage dice. Of course, the altered 3.5 spell itself is probably too powerful for 1st level: nearly halfway to righteous might.
Actually, Enlarge Person is FAR less powerful than Righteous Might. Enlarge Person gives you a +2 to strength, gives you more reach, and makes your weapon do more damage- and that's where the advantages end. All your attacks suffer a -1 Size penalty, so your attack bonus stays exactly the same (with the +2 to Strength), your Dexterity reduces by 2, and your AC suffers a size penalty as well. So you get a +1 to damage, a bit higher damage dice, more reach, and you take a -2 to AC, and a -1 to ranged attacks.
Righteous Might, however, gives you a +8 to Strength, +4 to Constitution, +4 to Natural Armor, and Damage Reduction of 5, 10, or 15/good or evil, depending on your alignment. And your weapon deals more damage, and yo uget reach. The only penalties you get are the -1 to attacks and AC. Now, if you honestly consider Enlarge Person "nearly halfway to Righteous Might", then go ahead and keep on believing that.
Anyway, I've actually been trying to figure something out.... what would you guys price a ring of Enlarge Person 1/day? By the guidelines, it would cost 360 gp (Spell level 1 x caster level 1 x Command Word 1800, divided by 5), but that just seems too cheap for me. I realize that the guidelines are just guidelines, which is why I'm asking. Would you guys think it should cost more? Less? Sound right? In other words, should items of Enlarge Person follow the guidelines, or are ad-hoc judgments necessary?
