ENnies 2002 Nominees (was "IT is done!")

Yup - thanks also to Eric, Jeff, Jeff, Alan and Charles for doing what I consider to be the worst job of the process (I'm glad I don't have to do it!).

Is it me, or did I count seven nominations for S&SS? ;) Too cool. Some really TOUGH choices I'm sure but I'm glad that the SLCS:Ghelspad managed to squeak in.

I think we had somewhere around 3 or 4 times the amount of participation, both in number of publishers and number of products this year as compared to last year. I was very heartened to see the top dogs joining in as well as newcomers to the field. The Scarred Lands stuff was pretty much universally liked by all judges.

I noticed that Mongoose is missing from the list not even a honorable mention does this mean they didn't enter or nothing was good enough.

They didn't enter! We're not sure why! Maybe England's too far away?

We also had one company that wanted to enter but got their stuff to us about a week late, so that didn't work out for them, unfortunately. I'll let them speak up if they want to do that.

Best Official Website
Wizards of the Coast

This is a joke, right? Or was this site nominated for it's crappy site navigation, constantly disappearing web links/pages, sporadic availability, and buggy shopping software?

The ENnies are broken!

Come on, now, you have to admit -- despite their creaky navigation scheme and sometimes flaky performance, they are the undisputed king of content for D&D and related stuff. Would have been a crime not to include it!

Nice job judges, seems like a well mix of great stuff, I am pleased to see we are nominated in 3 catagories, and look forward to the results.....thanks for all the reading you guys did and thanks for seeming unbiased- my opinion based by the mix of products and companies that got selected. Good luck to all and see you at GenCon:D

Re. WotC's site -- I thought the same when I saw what direction the judges were heading in. But every one of them agreed on this nomination, and their reasoning convinced me pretty quickly (not that I had any choice in the matter!).

WotC's website may have it's problems, but the sheer amount of D&D resources, freebies, enhancements etc. definitely qualifies it for a nomination along with the others. Now it's the fans decisions as to whether the navigation/availability are more/less important than the content.
