We also had one company that wanted to enter but got their stuff to us about a week late, so that didn't work out for them, unfortunately. I'll let them speak up if they want to do that.

Uh oh...

...there were so many really good entries... If the wind had been blowing a different way on the day they were read they could easily have been nominees...

Ain't that the truth!

The quality of of products this year was amazing.

Anyone who enters my Post ENnies Haiku Contest (on this very message board) stands to win some seriously great product.

There were many instances where we were debating over how to decide between 4-5 really worthwhile Honorable Mentions.

I noticed that Mongoose is missing from the list not even a honorable mention does this mean they didn't enter or nothing was good enough.

I was shocked myself, but Mongoose didn't enter.

Their Seas of Blood was definitely the product that saw the most use at my gaming table this past year.

...The Scarred Lands stuff was pretty much universally liked by all judges.

I was personally blown away by it.

I'm seriously considering switching from my long-running homebrew world to Scarred Lands for a spell and see how it works out.

re: WotC's website - can anyone seriously think that site shouldn't get a nomination? The sheer depth of the material to be found on it far outweighs the problems it has with navigation or being offline. With that much content, I'm willing to search and wait.

I'm shocked that Mongoose didn't enter, either. There were a couple other no-shows I was surprised about, but I'll wait to see if we hear from any of them before going any further into it.

Some of the categories involved a lot of "Sophie's Choice" type selecting. In some cases, we had an enormous wealth of material that was of comparable quality. So tough to choose.

Personally, I was very pleasantly surprised - heck, blown away is a better way to put it - by Bluffside and Hollowfaust. Hollowfaust I immediately decided to place in my own campaign world, and Bluffside is reminiscent of classics like City State of the Invincible Overlord and Lankhmar.

I seem to remember Matt Sprange making some comment to the effect that Mongoose wouldn't bother entering again in the general chitchat going on in the chatroom after the awards ceremony last year, but it was long ago and my memory is hazy... maybe he'll speak up on the subject?

Many thanks to all the judges for taking the time to go through everything and produce the nominations.

Of course, everyone knows that the voting will only ever be able to select the *second* best fan resource site...

Yay ENWorld! Yay Morrus! Yay Eric! Yay everybody here!

Yay you guys! It's thrilling and more than a little bit intimidating to be nominated. Thank you!

Heck, I thought it was good, but I'm horribly prejudiced....
