ENnies 2002 Nominees (was "IT is done!")

Best rules suppliment is really tight. The others I can narrow my choice to one or two right away, but the Best Rules Suppliment has a lot of my favorite books from this year.

It also looks like I have some reading to do ...

T-Bill - when does that start and where will it be?

It will be here...I'm unsure of the start date. Probably like one week after the ENNies are finished...so, mid-August I guess?

There will be a list of assigned topics from which to choose.

The winners pay their own shipping.

That's all I've got thus far.

P.S...LOVE your new sig, man. El Indio!

Being nominated is the real victory. The actual "winner" is generally picked by people who haven't read all the products/entries in the category...

Agreed. It's really something to have an award where the people choosing the finalists have all the possible entries at their fingertips, and are putting in the effort to evaluate them. I'm humbled that we got several nominations, and several more honorable mentions. (It was especially nice to see Occult Lore show up in the honorables, since it's been out so short a time there can't have been any chance to try much of it in play, if even read it thoroughly.)

Thanks to all the judges. I hope you guys had fun with the work, even if there was so much of it to accomplish!

(Anybody else notice that the best company category is filled with the all of the first D20 publishers? WotC itself; Atlas and Green Ronin were both the first to have D20 licensed products on sale, at Gen Con 2000; Necromancer was, as far as I know, the first to do a D20STL/OGL download, with "The Wizard's Amulet"; and of course Sword & Sorcery was the first non-WotC hardcover, with Creature Collection...? Regardless of who gets picked, it seems like the nominations list this year stands as a recognition of the pioneers in the field who took a chance on the whole OGL idea when a lot of the industry was pooh-poohing it as something that would never work, or would only lead to being devoured alive by the mad hellhounds of WotC or something. ;) )

I'm just amazed, truly and utterly, that my adventure, "Song of Storms" got nominated! I didn't even know that Monkey God had submitted it! As my first adventure, it was a labor of love, though perhaps not one of complete understanding of the rules (yet) *chuckles* Now, I'm a wee bit older and a wee bit wiser on d20, thankfully.

'course, I do have to say... it was quite the rush to see my name on the list! Along side such adventures as "Of Sound Mind" and "If Thoughts Could Kill," which are two of my own fave adventures, it really is a bloody honor to just be in the final five! :D

Thanks all for really, really making my week!

Chris

Man, three nominations. I could not be more happy with that. Then include a few honorable mentions and we at MEG are pretty thrilled.

The nomination for best campaign setting is one I am extremely proud off, the other four contenders there are fantastic.

Also, to see our partner Ambient nominated and Charles Plemons with his site. All great stuff!!!

Thanks Judges, I cannot tell you how much this means to us.

I'd like to thank the other judges. They were all fair and reasonable, and I was a bit intimidated to be among their ranks. I'd especially like to thank everyone who voted for me to be a judge; it was very humbling to have that many votes of confidence, and I took the whole thing very seriously. I hope I came close to earning those votes.

My eyes sure hurt now.

re: Occult Lore - I inhaled this book when it showed up. I was struck by how innovative many of the ideas were.

I'm just in awe that something I helped write (Bluffside) is in the same category listed with Ed Greenwood.

*walks away drunk with amazement*

I was personally blown away by it.

I'm seriously considering switching from my long-running homebrew world to Scarred Lands for a spell and see how it works out.

Hehehe!! *evil grins* Mighty Chardun, Vangal and Corean, I thank thee! :D

I have a lot of Scarred Lands products and I liked 'Barok Torn' better than I like Hallowfaust. I'm curious as to some insight about the choice between these two products.

What can I say? :) I like walking dead! ;) But serious Ysgarran what draws me in IS The fact the city FEELS alive. That's not to say Burok Torn isn't but you get the sense of a thriving city that's trying to stay that way as well as zest for life even in the face of death and horror.
