Enough with the halos already!

Oddly, there's no glowing muscles around Martial people, plants sprouting out of those using Primal sources, or magical fireworks when an Arcane uses theirs, let alone a chorus of angels following the divine agents around (actually, halos would have been more thematically appropriate for them ;) ).

I think they're dumb as well, but whatever I guess. I still don't know why they chose a fairly obvious religious symbol though? What's next a crucifix or Star of David to denote the Shadow source?

I don't know. What would be the long term effects of being near a party member with a psionic halo? Will I be able to have children?
While Wizards of the Coast has been conducting extensive research on to the health effects of psionic halos, there is to date, no conclusive evidence linking psionic halos to cancer and birth defects.

But Psionic characters will be required to get warning tattoos that must be legible 10 squares away and be translated in common, Elven, Giant and Primordial as well as any regional language where the psion may be.

What? You're doing it wrong - are you even playing 4E.

Christianity stole halos from the ancient Romans, who stole them from the Greeks, who oddly enough used them to denote heroes of the epic tier.

That and to keep pigeons from pooping on statues heads.

Martial power is evidenced by the almost impossible levels of physical prowess they exhibit. It's not a subtle thing for non-subtle powers. Observe Batman and tell me he looks like a regular joe when he's kicking someone's ass.

Primal has buttkiss to do with plants, and everything with spirit inhabitation. Are you saying that a Barbarian who has the Spirit of the Frostwolf inhabit him and cause his weapons to create cold damage doesn't have some sort of show of that power? Do you think that he just gets very angry?

Divine agents often cause their weapons to glow and explode with radiant power or thunder or fire. If they're not shooting pew pew laser beams. They don't need -angels- to do so.

Arcane agents make frikken fireballs appear to blast enemies to bits. They're not exactly -subtle-.

A psionic agent who uses his mind to throw a foe off a cliff before battering them with telekenetic force bolts on their way down doesn't get to stand there looking innocent with no evidence that they did it. They don't have special 'I don't appear to be using my powers like every other character in the game' rules. And so, halos.

I am more annoyed that all deva wear little plastic wings and that all male deva are drawn bald even though their description states they can have all sorts of hair colors/styles.

Historically that may be the case, but historically the swastika is considered a lucky symbol, but show it to almost anyone in the modern world and it certainly has a different context. Same for halos.

Yes they do when they're doing stuff. When someone in plate mail is walking down the street people don't go "hey look its a fighter, he's of the martial power source", same for that guy walking around with robes on and carrying a tome, could be a scholar, a priest, or maybe, just maybe he's a wizard.

Did Professor X or Jean Gray have any halos? No... were they less "cool" than Cyclops because you could see his optic beams? Not in my book. Personally, I preferred the crystals from 3e that was the common Psionic elements.

Like I say, whatever, its their artwork and I'm not a fan. I don't really like psionics either, but that's neither here nor there. I haven't liked it since 2e, but I do like the different mechanics in 4e that are used. Nice to see them trying something new there.
