Hmm...I might be able to do something with quarterstaves :) Especially if you allow magic :P

Shawn, go ahead and email me about the Quarterstaves. Since you area already working with us on other things, we'll work it into your schedule.

How to "dib" a weapon and get the format, etc:

Email me a basic proposal, and then if we like your proposal, I send you a rough copy of Spiked Chains so you can see what basic format we expect for the final manuscript. Also, if you already have Three Arrows for the King, you'll have a basic idea of the format, although we've changed it a bit in the meantime.

blackhammer@dreadgazebo.com is my email address, you can also tag submissions@enpublishing.net which submits to both Ryan and myself.

Writers who have already written for us in the past only have to send a very basic proposal ('hey, i wanna do the dwarven urgrosh') while new writers will be in a situation of sending us a more detailed proposal ('here's why I'm good for writing this book, here's one or two prestige class ideas, here are some weapon variants, here are some specific magic weapon samples... and here is a writing sample of at least two of the aforementioned sections').

Sweet. My proposals are away.

At what point do we find out what's taken and what's still free though?

And our April release will be E.N.Arsenal - Sticks and Stones - a full-length release about using hunks of wood (sharpened or otherwise) and lumps of rock as weapons.

Can we presume this one is an illustrious April Fool's product? I can't imagine a need for 2,100 words, let alone 7,000, to detail the use of hunks of wood and lumps of rock in combat.

You can't? Quarter-staves, tonfa, nunchuks, spears, slings, stone axes, war clubs, shillaleaghs, sectioned staves (two and three) and the list goes on....plenty of material and ground to cover, I'd wager.

I'm curious what, exactly, is in these 7,000 word documents. Historical information? New rules? Magic weapon? Advice and techniques? Special feats?

Yes.
All that, and at least one Prestige Class.

Hmmmmm... we're releasing it on April 1st. If it's not big enough to warrant an entire book, then it'll be an article in the Bride of a Portable Hole (working title... also considering Attack of the Portable Hole, Revenge of the Portable Hole, etc.- suggestions welcome).

It is not completely a joke, however. Sure, the section on stones will include a revisiting of the Bowler class from Portable Hole Full of Beer as well as a new prestige class, the Chuckster. But if you ignore the beer-drinking component of the Bowler, it's actually a quite usable Prestige Class, especially for huge sized creatures. The Chuckster is going to be someone who specifies in throwing rocks... basically something every halfling should take a look at, although hill giants may be interested in it as well.

Might even include stuff about trebuchets & catapults.

Maybe a sidebar for prehistoric game players. And/or improvised weapons.

As for sticks, there'll be stuff about sticks for whacking (clubs and staves), and then we'll investigate the innovation of pointed sticks (spears & stakes).

I'm also thinking of a section about harsh language.

So yeah, I think it could fill a book's worth.
