From the Guide- Archer (Scott Bakula) learns what makes Lt. Reed (Dominic Keating) tick when the pair try to defuse a mine that has affixed itself to the Enterprise.

Since dutiful Malcolm Reed isn't the ship's most gregarious officer, the outgoing Archer tries to break the ice with a casual breakfast. To Reed's relief, the awkward get-together is interrupted by the discovery of an uncharted world. His relief is short-lived, however, when the Enterprise strikes a mine en route to the planet, setting off an explosion that damages the ship. When another mine latches onto the hull, Reed is sent into space to dislodge the warhead, only to suffer an injury that impels Archer to come to his aid.

I'm enjoying how they have worked the various crew members into the episodes, so far, and am hopeful that this is another good episode. :)

I keep hearing them mention the Romulan on the previews. Are they going to bring out the empire in this episode?

It seems they are. My guess is the uncharted planet is being used by the Romulans.

We now know more about the most mysterious member of the crew than any other... :)

Ya, hopefully they will fix that. IT was interesting though. Nice episode. I liked how the Romulans were used.

True. Just a taste of the Romulans, and nothing too revealing.

Which was perfect. I also like that the Vucans know very little about them. It shows limits to their knowledge which is a good precedent. So far, this was the best show this season, and might be the best of the series. I liked it that much. :D

One thing bothered me about this episode, three decks are blown out and no one dies? In fact, I don't think any crewmen have died in any of the episodes. Doesn't anyone wear red shirts??

If they start ending each episode with "Knowing is half the battle" I'm gone.:D

Well, the ship is pretty big and they only have 82 people on it. So, while maybe the odds are against it, it's not unbelievible.

I think this is before the Red Shirt Era. :D

If all crew members were at their posts, and those were crew quarters, it might make some sense, but they didn't mention anything like that, IIRC. I guess that is kinda annoying, though I have low expectations to how much I require a simple story to feel compelled to handle the loose ends. Anyone have a link to the deck plans for the Enterprise?
