Enterprise 10-15-03

They're the size of a small moon, so they definately exert a noticable gravitational force. Plus they seem to kick out gravitational fields when exerting the space distortions.

I think the idea is that physics in the entire expanse is pretty wacky and unpredictable because of them.

The shuttle lifting off the sphere with the malfunction was fun, though I bet the physics involved had Trekkers or rocket scientists smashing their head against the wall. :)

Speaking as one with a degrees in physics, I can say that while the shuttle scene was funny, it totally grated on my suspension of disbelief. Overall I thought the episode was lukewarm but also reminescent of TOS in it's plot.

Last week's episode was great, but didn't further the plotline. This weeks greatly furthered the plotline, but stunk. The sphere thing was predictable from the first time they encountered one. Of course there is more than one of them. This episode should have been 15 minutes. They could have done all the predictable alien BS off-camera and it would have been just as effective.

They at least let Hoshi dress a little better. But that doesn't mean she's not boring.

Hopefully they get back to that alien consortium soon.

Did anyone else think that Hoshi might gain some latent telepathy from the sphere thing? Or was it just me?

Yeah. I thought maybe with the rock/crystal thing, that Hoshi would get to bring it along and use it in further episodes to help Enterprise. I figured it would make good plot devices as Hoshi would try to learn how to use the device by herself... maybe give her something else to help the crew.

Also, if it were to be discovered that she had somekinda latent
super-abilities over all, it would really help me accept Hoshi's
uncanny knack with language. It's just so horribly convenient!

"The Most Toys, Part II." 'Nuff said about that. Hoshi should have smashed his glowing telepathic Easter egg.

I was much more interested in the subplot with the anomalies and the 50 spheres. Mapping them out was a good way to get around the Trillium D/Vulcan neurotoxin dilemma.

Too bad we can't talk politics--the Enterpise's search for the Xindi "weapon of mass destruction" is just so current-events I can't believe it.

Momentum? Read in USA Today where viewership was down 17% from last season!

Well, I was talking on a personal level :p

I was actually starting to look forward to each week's episode. This one bored me, so now I begin to wonder. This is the reason viewership is down. They have a good episode that gets your interest back, then come out with a string of crappy episodes that just kills your interest again.
