ENWorld hates me? (Time-outs and unlogging galor.)

Ok, it has gotten to the point that I can't even use the boards. In fact, it will be a miracle if I'm able to get this message through.

First of all is the logging in issue. I can log in, then go to another page, and I have to log back in when I return. I sometimes I even get logged out when I just jump from forum to forum and sometimes even thread to thread. This seems to be much worse after I cleaned out my cookies.

Time Outs

About 8 times out of 10, whenever I try to do ANYTHING, I get a time out error about a half-second after I click to either submit a reply or click to read a thread. Other times, it will just sit for about 30 seconds before it times out. In any case, I'll have to log back in once I see the page again.

And nothing is refreshing right...... it is better than it was, but still not very reliable.

Is it just me???

I've just moved to the new URL, but the only problem I've had on either is lag.

hmmmm.... that may have fixed it. I was getting in through the wrong door it seems.

Darn - my work network blocks www.enworld.org, as it's a -gasp!- gaming site! (however, it has no trouble with enworld.cyberstreet.com).

At home, this is no problem. I'll make the switch, and if I /have/ to post from work using the old URL, I'll deal with the consequences. At least when it times you out, you can log in again w/o losing what you were doing, it seems.

That's something I've heard before, and I've often wondered how they know. What mechanism do they use to determine the content of a website, and is there something I can do to circumvent such things?

Morrus, you underhanded do-gooder. That'd be awesome, cause I can't access your website while I'm in my computer science class for the same reason. They should allow it, since I am like 5 weeks ahead in the reading at all times.

I tend to keep ahead in my own work. There may be ways to do this, as I know there are ways in a web page title to help direct people to a site.

After I deleted my cookies, I have had no problems using the boards. As a matter of fact, I think they are actually faster than I remember.

Creamsteak, how is college going for you now? I seem to have lost track of your thread on college life.
