EoM rocks my face.

Uh... laser weasel... let's see...
I don't yet have a whole lot of practice using the system. I spent all my time drawing continuums (or is it continua?). :)

Hydrophobic Laserweasel
SummonAnimal1/EvokeDeath5/CreateMetal3/EvokeLight9/Gen2
Total MP: 20
Range: Touch
Duration: Up to one minute (D)

This feared and forbidden incantation summons a weasel from the depths of an interdimensional pet store, infects it with rabies, and bolts a laser on its neck. The creature is friendly toward the caster. Immediately upon appearing, the laserweasel fires its built-in weapon system, dealing 9d6 "light" damage with a successful ranged touch attack against any one creature within 800 feet. The laserweasel may not fire its weapon again for the duration of the spell.

Yeah. The first one was a HUGE step in the right direction, but it had some stuff that was a bit awkward. I don't remember if you could combine spell lists in it or not (probably yes?) but you definitely can in this one. The possibilities are endless, and the end cost is not terribly difficult to figure out, once you're familiar with the system.

Ah, the stuff you miss while trying to keep your family from going crazy when they come to visit you in Atlanta from Texas to see your graduation.

So yeah, it is quite . . . groovy. *grin*

I don't think you have to devote 5 MP to making your weasel have rabies. I'd probably let you summon it as a normal creature. I also think the 3 MP spent to create the laser is a bit gratuitous too, since it's for flavor and there's little way a hunk of metal would be overpowering. Oh, and on General Enhancements you paid 2 MP (for range?), which would only get you 150 ft., not 800.

Heck, logically, the weasel would just be flavor too, at that point. I mean, okay, the weasel could attack for a round, but you mostly just want to create it and have it fire its laser. So you could spend 3 MP for range, then 17 MP for an 18d6 laser.

But yeah, I like the drawing. I wanted something like that in the book.

Oh, and yes, in this EOM you can combine spell lists. In the original, there wasn't an easy way to do so, because the ranges, durations, etc. varied between spell lists.

Just curious...

How "open" is it? In other words: Would it be possible to use it for a published setting (theoretically of course), or do you think its primary focus is in homebrew games?
