Epic Bards/Warmages with Spell Knowledge

If an epic Bard has this feat, Spell Knowledge, does he/she have the option of choosing his/her two new spells known from the sorcerer/wizard lists? Similar question for warmages. Could an epic Warmage choose any two ninth level wizard/sorcerer spells (shapechange, timestop for example)?

SPELL KNOWLEDGE [EPIC]
Prerequisite: Ability to cast spells of the maximum normal spell level of an arcane spellcasting class.
Benefit: The character learns two new arcane spells of any level up to the maximum level he or she can cast. This feat does not grant any additional spell slots.
Special: A character can gain this feat multiple times.

RAW, I don't think so. The spell has to be on your available spell list in order to be able to cast it.

Otherwise, Wizards could get Cure spells from the Bard list.

But what about a warmage? A warmage already Knows all the spells on his spell list. Does this mean this feat is useless to him? According to the wording, you learn two new arcane spells (up to max level you can cast). It doesn't say anything about what spell lists they should be chosen from.

And what's wrong with a wiz/sorcerer getting a cure spell or two with this feat? This is an EPIC feat after all.

I'd allow a warmage to use this feat to pick up additional Evocation spells from the sorcerer/wizard spell list, just as he can with his Advanced Learning ability.

As you have pointed out, the feat doesn't say which spell lists the new spells can be chosen form. Many players and DMs would interpret this to mean that the feat does not override the general convention that a spellcaster can only learn and cast spells from his spell list.

That said, if you and your DM don't have any problems with allowing a wizard or sorcerer to learn cure spells with this feat, feel free to play the game any way you want.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was going for.

I allow it to pick off of any arcane list, and Extra Spell to pick off any arcane list, except the spell has to be less than the highest level you can cast.

I wanted it to parallel the psionic feat.

Well, you're only good at blowing things to tiny bits.

You're really good at it but that's the only thing you will do.

In a big party or if there is a real arcanist (Wiz) it's really fun to play one.

I speak from experience (I have a level 18 warmage).

And about the armor thing, you can cast spell in medium armor but you're not proeficient with them.

Mithral breastplate is good tho.

As for the spells, it's only the spell list in CArc + the few evocation you get with Advanced Learning.
