There's still something to be said for having access to all of the schoools of magic. And if you're an epic caster without a 30 in your primary stat you're doing something wrong.

Darn straight:

15 (base) + 5 (levels) + 6 (headband) = 26 right there

And a higher base Int score, a race that gives an Int bonus (e.g., sun elf), and/or inherent bonuses (tomes, wishes) can easily push that to 30+.


But I'm quite sure that gfunk and most other people here know this anyway.

You mean more like 16 (base) +5 (levels) +6 (item) +5 (inherent) = 32. That's with standard point buy and a reasonable PC wealth expenditure.

Nah, to heck with 6 (item). If you've got a few spellcasters in your party you're better off going 20-30 (epic spell).

Also, clerics should get an extra domain spell for every spell level they gain with this feat as well.
