And yes, you have said something degrading to me... you have, thus far, used the phrase " twinks, munchkins, and people too dumb to play Diablo" to describe people who play high powered campagins (which I do at times, and enjoy them), as well as compared me to terrorists who kill innocent people.

Oh, well in that case then I can only say, "mission accomplished."

And Mortaneus (sp), TOON was a great game, I need to get those books out of storage. What do you think of Paranoia? I always thought that the two ran in the same vein, maybe because of the sheer lunacy of the games / flavor text.

I think the whole munchkin rules/ lawyer name calling thing is really distasteful period. I mean one groups style of play over anothers really has nothing to do with how good the ELH will be or how lame that sample character is. I've kept up with the post and according to your_mother his big problem with the book is, he finds "power-gamers" and "ruleslawers" annoying and hates hearing from them in any public forums.

He also seems annoyed that some people feal that any thing that adds to the enjoyment of the game as a whole,is a good thing. Reguardless of whether it can be explioted.

He also seems to feal that anyone dissagreeing with him, is making a personnal attack.

I don't get it, those opions seem like they deserve personnal attacks to me.

The Epic level rules are being written because there is a call for it. People want to play games of that level. What I don't understand is how these rules will ruin the game for anyone. If you don't like 'em, don't play 'em. What's wrong with that? If you're a DM, simply disallow the use of those rules in your campaign. Plenty of DMs delineate what is in or out of their games, including core rules. Outside of one's own gaming group, what does it matter how others play the game? How could the way a group in, for example, Iowa plays cause an adverse effect upon someone else's game in, again for example, Connecticut? Oriental Adventures has been out for a while; assuming that one dislikes using that setting and rules, has that book's contents somehow forced its way into the campaigns of those who don't want to use it?

That's quite a fine job of paraphrasing there, though I think it's going a bit overboard. I never mentioned the Taliban specifically, I was aiming more for the groups chewing up Israel.

It's more about feeding a cancer than it is about terrorists.

That still doesn't change the fact that TOON is a nice exception to the points you provided.

Don't play at being obtuse - I'm sure even you could come up with a way or two to break TOON if you felt like it. It's not hard - all you have to do is find something that's totally disruptive to the current adventure or campaign and run with it.

And your "cancer comparison" is inapt, because you've yet to establish that anything you've outlined is a bad thing, beyond that fact that you, personally, are annoyed by it.
