Epic Sci Fi novels

First Post
I am looking around to see what people suggest for some sweeping, epic sci fi series in the veil of the Wheel of Time and the Game of Thrones. I have been a fan of the Dune novels for a long time with the balance of political intrigue and in house fighting. I just recently pick up the Night Dawn books by Peter Hamilton, and they are awesome. I was just wondering if there are others that people recommend. (Of course there is always the star wars and star trek novels as well).

Arthur C. Clarke's books, 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2010: Odyssey Two, 2061: Odyssey Three, and 3001: The Final Odyssey could be described as Epic. I love them...probably should read through them again sometime, myself.

Personally, I really like the "Neutronium Alchemist" series.

Also, try "The War Against the Cthoor", one of the best SF series out there, though it's sadly unfinished at this point.

And, I'll chime in that the "Lensman" stories are great!!

Asimov's 'Foundation' series.

Phillip Jose Farmer's 'Riverworld' series.

Jack L. Chalker's 'Well of Souls' and/or 'Flux and Anchor'

Larry Niven's 'Ringworld' books.

Jack McDevitt's 'Omega Cloud' books (I really loved these)

David Brin's Uplift series (Sundiver, Startide Rising, The Uplift War, Brightness Reef, Infinity's Shore, Heaven's Reach). There are some brilliant ideas in these books.
