Epic Spells

Greetings everyone,

I have a quick rules question concerning epic level spells...hopefully this is the proper forum for the thread.

Is there any way for epic level spells to be copied from one to another? Must every epic spellcaster research and develop his or her own spells, or can a spell be learned from a master or book, thereby negating the cost and time of spell development?

Thanks everyone,

Josh

Clay tablets, discussed in the ELH.

Stone, actually. ;) The creator of the tablet pays double standard development cost to scribe it, and it is destroyed upon being learned by another.

Good luck with the x2 Spellcraft DC in order to "learn" the spell though.

I would instead use the information more as "research notes" and apply a bonus to the researcher's Spellcraft check for development. While this isn't specifically listed in the Epic rules it is an application of the assist option from the standard rules which should generally apply IMO.
