Epic Support

Now I know that the Epic Rules aren't in the SRD yet, but let's face some truths. There are officially licensed products from Wizards of the Coast, and there are those who've asked for and received permission to use some of their matieral in their products. Having said that, are there any companies that will be supporting play past 20th level?

I know that licensed, we have...

Kingdoms of Kalamar
Ravenloft
Oriental Adventurers

Those three present some real interesting possibilities but I'm more interested to see crunchy bits that take place from publishers with no specific setting.

Hell, how about Epic Star Wars while I'm dreaming eh?

So I take you're not interested in seeing an epic level high gorgon with sorcerer and blood witch epic levels? ;) *is teasing*

It's not that I'm not interested, but since I haven't seen too much overlap between the Scarred Lands and "Official" material like I have with other companies, I didn't mention it. As a matter of fact, you're example is a little invalid because I can have that with the Epic book and the Scarred Lands campaign without any setting specific material. Now if your talking about the "Queen Mother" of the Gorgons who only arises once every two hundred years and leads her people to feast on the flesh of the living, that's another story!

Uhm maybe her baby sister, since I don't want to go around statting Titans thank you. Something are best left NOT to be discussed.

Well I say give it time. Eventually there will some epic level adventures, just not relatively soon.

well, with the book looking like it'll come out in late July/August, has anyone decided if they were going to aim for the higher levels? I'm looking forward to the Legendary PrCs from the various Path books for example.

I imagine once WoTC makes Epic level Handbook open game content there will be lots of support. And I really feel that it won't be very long intil thy do maybe 6-10 months.

After all we have psionic handbook as a precedent. As for why they haven't done some of their other hardcovers such as FR, MotP or OA these books have way too much setting information in them to just go with the gentlemens agreement so they will have to actually finish writing the SRD on them before they release them as open game content. As for deties and demigods it hasn't been out long enough I expect they will release this one soon also since it really doesn't have any setting material other than the greyhawk gods and they are already listed in the players handbook.

Epic Level handbook sound to me like it is an expansion of the 3 core books and won't have any setting specific material.

I for one hope that the ELH doesn't wait much longer.

I started my campaign back in December of 2000 and the characters are jsut starting to reach 17th level with 18th level and beyond looming ever closer.

I would like for them to be able to plan as much as possible before they surpass 20th.

On another note of Epic gooeyness, hopefully there will be a bigger push to get some High Level Campaign support out there.

As a DM/Consumer one thing I do NOT want is a High Level module. Modules at those levels are too hard to work into the overall campaign. What would be cool to do, and I would love to see some of you publishers do this is a High Level Threat book. Something akin to the monster manuals but more in line with the old rogues galleries. Does that make sense?
