Great, spellcasting...I knew I should have been more careful walking down this hallway. I must have sprung some type of alarm...mmmmmmm...I'll just wait it out. Their spells can't last forever.

Malibeem has always been the patient sort, an odd characteristic in his family; then again, you don't get this far in his trade by being too eager. Before casting his shield, Mali takes another listen. He searches around for a scrying eye. Looking through his gem of seeing, he walks back down the hall as if leaving (and continuing to search for the alarm / scrying device he knows he foolishly set off) and then around the first turn he makes, he melts into the shadows gracefully, effortlessly and without sound. He then makes his way back to the concealed door and listens again (assuming someone hasn't opened the door).

Has his ploy worked...?

You find that what you are able to do, is watch a rather fascinating and short battle. Two, dark, red robed wizards, both old men, blast out at each other with a series of almost undecipherable death spells, before finally one of the two (the one with the darker, more youthful hair, and the larger obsidian staff with the onyx pendant) manages to finally imprison his opponent in a small onyx gem. This wizard, supposing you take no actions directly towards him, then steps through a door in the next room, without worry or cause. The smile on his face, and the disposed armaments of his opponent make for quite the horrid fixture, but only briefly.

(You identify multiple heightened finger of death spells, a few unknown spells, and you identify the use of a soultrapping spell. That is your knowledge of what's thrown out. The above assumes you do not confront the victor after your observations.)

OoC: sorry i was late at posting i cjust found out today that i was being waited for. i haven't picked my languages yet so if i can yes i will take infernal.

IC:" yes i can read this jsut give me a sec". sniper take the letter and read it once then translates to his brother.

he finishes with the leter and see the ring in his brothers hand. "is that the ring that she was talking about.???"
(Wow, the spelling errors are incredible. You do realize, the site has a spellchecker?)

Veit places the ring on the pedestal.
As your ring is placed on the pedastal, to your surpise, a spinal column springs up behind you. It uncoils into a rib cage, and sinew and muscle suddenly covers the entire entity. The device unfolds a small platform, and without much more dazzle, the gory device motions for you to step onto the platform with it's horribly disfigured skeletal hands.

Deflecting the lasts bone shards, Rhazael leaps up 50' in the air then charges the beast with an astonishing dive. He nearly closes the whole extension of his golden wings, gaining an impressive speed, then tries to land a mighty kick on the troll's carapace, just before totally unfolding then and regain height again.

(OOC: dive charge with improved flyby attack [no aoO from reach]; if I hit I deal double damage.)

The damnably powerful creature prepares for your blow as best it can, and your acrobatics are rather incredible. Your dive charge lands with un-imaginable horror on the creatures face, as the design of your blow was flawless (natural 20, followed by a second natural 20, followed by a confirmed hit of 52). The ribcage of the creature crashes through as you demonstrate an undeniable demonstration of Elishar's imbued wrath.

To reword that in mechanics terms, Crit, Critical confirmed in the threat range, one hit kill confirmed by the hit.

The creatures face, a beak-like jaw full of razor sharp teeth, looks utterly amazed. It cries out in some kind of pain, but only for a meager second before it's strength becomes nothing.

The second creature, in anger fright and horror, proceeds to run away across the snow drifts of the Troll-lands. The huge metallic door waiting before you is still, and motionless, as the second creature runs ever so quickly to flee from you. Mayhaps they overestimate you, or they underestimated you, or they have no real idea, but you have instilled fear in a rather 'impregnable' creatures heart.

OoC:yes i was called for supper and wanted to finish posting this message before i went up.

Rather impressed but comforted to feel Elishar's protection at the beginning of this new adventure, Rhazael looks for any devices that could allow him to open the huge door.

Inspection hints at the truth, the door is opened and closed by a huge steel beam bolted onto a rigid gear about 10 feet up on the left hand side of the wall. It requires incredible strength to turn normally.

Rhazael picks up the creature's metal staff, and try to use it as a lever to better work the mechanism, otherwise he'll just try to rotate it with all his strenght.

(OOC: If it seems I cant't open it normally, I'll take 20)

Blinking and Displaced, Malibeem quietly enters the surveys the room. If given the opportunity he will search the body for clues about this most intersting place (and for loot of course). It pays to be overly cautious... I wonder what they were fighting about. I would hate to think they were friends.
