Equip the modern supernatural police officer

i think the cops would carry gear much like the current officers, with 3 excpetions:
1 an item that renders them immume to compulsion effects
2 an item that allows them to see invisible/detect magic, limited times per day.
3 an item that acts as a teleport beacon, and gives of a signal on command, or at death.

They will have ORDERS not to chase that werewolf or to assult that demon! Instead they call upon the S.M.A.T

Likewise, I think the Miranda Rights would be reworded so that they included counter-charms. Heck, you're going to be saying it anyway. "The Eye of Horus compels you. You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney. By the Seal of Solomon, thy witchcraft be turned back against thee. If you cannot afford an attorney...."

I *love* this!! I've got to remember it for future reference. :D

Re: tanglefoot bags - I've seen several tv programs about the future of law enforcement tech in which they demonstrated expanding foam as a real-world equivalent of these. I think expanding foam would incapacitate a werewolf just as well as it does a man.

The SMAC Team? Sounds better than SMAT or SWAMP, in my opinion.

What would a SMAC team member have? What do real world ones carry?

In first ed Vampire, I and a group came up with "Demon Killers".

Bullets that have a slug crafted out of several different materials:
Iron Wood, Silver, Iron, and some other things. Didn't matter what you shot at. As long as the bullet didn't go through them they were gonna be sore afterwards. We couldn't figure out how to get the holy water in it, but blessing it might work as well.

The slug itself would have to be put together carefully though.

(Course we also loaded every other round with High Explosives. But we hadn't gotten in touch with our inner angst yet.)
