Eric Noah, stay out of this thread. Everybody else, hop on in.

Enworld is a place I go to read things posted about gaming that are written by mature, intelligent people.

Its the place I go to get reviews on new things to buy or ideas on what to buy.

Its the place that lets me know when Order of the Stick has a new post! And gives me links to other cool gaming sites.

ENWorld is a place I spent far too much of my time at!

Creativity. Humor. Community. Fun. What a great place to come and read the tremendous diversity that exists in the d20 world. I don't post a lot but I sure have learned much and appreciate this place for the opportunity to help us all to expand possibilities, seek advice, and support.

ENWorld is my home away from home ... or my second home when I'm already home! :D I go there mostly for the gaming. At ENWorld I game with several Australians, people on the opposite coast of the United States, people in Holland, and even a few Canadiens! ENWorld brings us all together.

But what ENWorld really is to me is a place for free expression of ideas. Not for profit, not for anything but learning and improving oneself. It is the place that has made me into the Storyteller and DM that I am.

Some of us are unlucky enough to live in an area completely devoid of any gaming community. For us, ENWorld is that community.

Thank you, for giving us a place where we can be gamers.

What EN World means to me:

Since joining this community back in early 2000, I honestly recall a lot. The ups and downs of 3rd edition, the debates about the SRD inclusion/exclusions, the rise, fall and rebirth of d20.
But mostly what EN World has meant to me is given me a great purpose. Because of En World, I got to be published. I got to explore D&D as I saw it. And thanks to EN World, 89% of everyone that posts here knows this: Whenever there's an SL question, Nightfall is the guy to ask. (And hey I even got myself an NPC...of myself)

So what does EN World mean to me? It means thanks to it, I've got 3 dimensions to my geekdomness.

Thank Eric!

I had quit playing DnD by august 1999. I had no idea that a third edition was coming. I can't even remember why I was looking for DnD stuff on the internet, probably boredom. I came across Eric Noah's third edition speculation page in september 1999 and was floored. now there was not yet much information but what little there was, brought me back to roleplaying when I had written it off. The page totally revitalized my will to play the game.

I owe Eric Noah at least 320 enjoyable nights hanging around with friends. I have no way to pay him back. I can not adequately express my gratitude. I can honestly say no other single person has had such a positive effect on my life. Thank You. If I ever make it to gencon, that man does not pay for a single anything while I'm in the room.

Aw, what a nice idea.

What EN World Means to Me:

The best online reading available to me, where I can geek out with a bunch of like-minded people. Plus, everytime I do a bit of reading, I pick up on some new observation about D&D that I never would've thought of in a million years. Plus, I learned that the Warlock is an evil class. Good to know.

ENWorld is the third site I go to every morning, without fail. The first is mine (to check I'm still alive), the second is BBC News (to check the world it still alive). It is the online centre of my role-playing hobby where I know I can find people in the message board any time of the day from anywhere in the country who know, love and cherish this hobby of ours. The boards are thought provoking, funny, sometimes infuriating and flame-filled, but always polite, happy and full of more creativity than almost any other place on the net. It's a place frequented by the builders and shakers of this hobby where we can talk, discuss and criticize the folk who make gaming what it is today. It doesn't get better than this.

So thank you Eric for giving it to us.

EN World is like a vast melting pot of personalities and ideas. It is a place to get feedback on adventures, encounters, house rules, and whathaveyou. It is a place to discover something interesting that someone else posted. It is a place to allow reflection, revision, and humor. It is a place to share sorrows and joys. Let's face it: If half the people on EN World are half as interesting in person as they are online, I'd be willing to game with most of them, and even offer a couch to a fair number if they were visiting Toronto. Well, assuming it was okay with my S.O., of course. :D

Seriously, for a community of passionate people holding disparate points of view, EN World is remarkable civilized.

This is a great place to hang out.
