Although it's not Boot Hill (since only WOTC can use that moniker)
Keep your eye out for Citizen Games SideWinder game.....due out this spring. Pure Western goodness without all that magic from Deadland's.
Gangbusters is unlikely to appear, since the Pulp Heroes rules pretty adequately model that genre. The only way I can see doing it is if this schtick goes on for so many years that no one remembers Pulp Heroes, anymore.
Frankly, I don't see that happening.
I'm sure we'll get around to Boot Hill eventually, though it's not on the schedule for the next year.
Star Frontiers is interesting. If we ever do a "standard" science fiction game chances are pretty strong that it'll have something to do with Star Frontiers. Again, though, it's not on the books for the next six issues or so.
Hohohoho, so you already know the six next settings... Mr. Mona, could you give us some scoop?
Well, I think you can not, so I'm going to ask you another question, and I hope you will be able to answer it: Will Planescape or something derived from it appear in Dungeon/Polyhedron in those six numbers?
Personally, I'm still holding out for Planescape (Sigil in particular) to be farmed out to some eager up-and-coming d20 company. A companion piece to the Manual of the Planes, if you will.
But even forty pages in Polyhedron would be groovy...especially if DiTerzelli does the art.
Well, as a (proud) member of Planewalker.com, I can reassure you, Planescape 3E, fully d20 compatible, fully official and FREE will appear soon, very soon. An introductory adventure and a basic set are already in playtesting, and the Spanish version of both of them has been translated. Trust on us, cutter, and you will be rewarded.
Yes, bring back Star Frontiers. I ran a game that went from SF to Alternity (modified the rules from the Dragon Annual because I didn't totally agree with them) where I used the SF races and the Rim races with the Alternity races written in (the Fraal had lurked on the edges of the Frontier for centuries before revealing themselves, the Sesheyans were enslaved by Streel Corp, the Weren had recently been discovered by the Capellan Free Traders, the Mechalus were on a new planet discovered by Pan-Gal, and I replaced the old Saurians from Dragon with the T'sa). Star Frontiers was too easy on damage and Alternity was incredibly deadly by comparison. I have worked my own stats for all the races in d20 and have wanted to convert the game over, but I have been too busy to convert psionics and FX to a Star Wars type skill and feat system.
Oh, I guess that Buck Rogers XXVc will never appear since the Frank Dille trust pasted their copyright notice everywhere including places where Frank Dille had no influence (I guess this also goes with the loss of licences when WotC dropped the TSR logo).
It's sad to see that starfrontiers.org is jumping on the D20 bandwagon. I like D20, for D&D, Star Wars and new games, but I loved the original Star Frontiers rules. They were fast, simple and fun, and if you used the Zebulon's Guide expansion, they were detailed enough to really make a great game. I'd hate to see the game forced into a cookie cutter compatibility with Star Wars style D20.
Personally, I don't mind seeing old games using the d20 System. It is probably the most profitable way to revive them using an already large network of d20 gamers aka potential customers.
