Eschew Material Components ACF?

I am looking for an 'official' source to replace my Sorcerer's familiar with Eschew Material Components, from any WotC sourcebook and/or Web Enhancement and/or Dragon Magazine and/or Dungeon Magazine.

I am aware a lot of DM's already houserule Sorcerers to get the feat for free at first level, and I almost have my DM convinced to allow it, but a source reference to even a remotely official sounding source would help.

Eschew Materials [General]

Benefit
You can cast any spell that has a material component costing 1 gp or less without needing that component. (The casting of the spell still provokes attacks of opportunity as normal.) If the spell requires a material component that costs more than 1 gp, you must have the material component at hand to cast the spell, just as normal.

Why would you take a feat for THAT?
And why would you ever give up your familiar for anything less than a better familiar (or Abjurant Jaunt)?

*Ahem* I have actually seen a friend's sorcerer with Eschew Materials use it to cast a spell while grappled and save his ass. On the other side of things, I've also seen said friend have nice success against casters as a bard using a readied action to disarm a material component with his whip and ruin the caster's action.

Are these rare occasions notable enough to warrant taking the feat? Of course not. But the feat's not completely worthless.

Swapping a familiar for it is a bad trade, though. If only because you can get such other nice things for your familiar. And that as a sorc, you need the ability to summon a familiar to get the sexy bloodline feats. Unless getting 9 spells with one feat doesn't sound awesome to you, I guess.
