The only new condition in Essentials is "Essentialized." It means "noticeably better" and mostly applies to feats.

So defenders can have multiple marks now as long as the targets are in this aura? And the effect ends as soon as the target leaves the aura?

Defenders could always have multiple marks, given the right conditions.

A fighter with Come and Get It can often mark all the bad guys, at least for a few moments.

it's a minus 2 penalty if you attack someone other that the defender and the defender gets to make a opportunity attack if you attack his ally or shift. The attacking and shifting is actually part of another feature the Knight has called Battle Guardian.

I hate to have to go here, but it does make a difference mechanically:

The attack granted by Battle Guardian is NOT an OA. It is an Opportunity Action which allows the defender to make an MBA against the target. Thus feats which grant bonuses or add-ons to OAs do not apply.

However, if the target triggers an OA by normal means (e.g., a non-shift move or a ranged/area attack) then that is a plain vanilla OA.

Correct. And by the same token, things that hinder OAs, such as a power that give attack penalties to OAs or powers that flat out deny OAs, do not affect the use of Battle Guardian and Righteous Radiance.
