I've been reading HotFL and I just want to make sure I have this right. When your (for example) warpriest hits 11th level he can take the Devout Warpriest paragon path that's presented in the book, or he can take another paragon path. If he takes a different one it replaces the abilities gained on the chart that say [devout warpriest] next to them, correct? A player of mine (who complains constantly about 4e in general but refuses to go back to 3.5) thinks you get the second path in addition to everything on the chart and I'm 99% sure that's wrong. Thanks in advance :)

You are correct. When you take the devout warpriest paragon path, you get all of the devout warpriest paragon path class features (as indicated in the level progression). If you take a different paragon path for which the character qualifies, you do not get the warpriest paragon path features. Hope that helps!

Thanks, it does help. I thought I was being logical, lol. I think my friend was confused because in the epic tier it just says "epic destiny feature".

The epic destiny feature is different from the paragon path features. You can choose the auto-Essentials epic destiny (like Epic Warpriest) or one for which the PC qualifies from a different 4e source.

Epic Warpriest is NOT an Epic Destiny. It's simply the epic-level progression of the base Warpriest class. Otherwise, this is correct.
