Essentials Multiclass/Interop Rules in April

frogged

First Post
The cleaned up warlord article contained some information that might have been easily missed:

Included in the Class Compendium series (in April) is an installment on feats to round out your character. For the most part, the feats included in Class Compendium are intended to provide characters built using the Essentials rulebooks with more options for using the Player’s Handbook material, as well as providing characters built using Class Compendium with ways to gain some of the class features presented in Heroes of the Fallen Lands. (Link)
I am hoping that there will be rules to mix and match a few class features between class sub-builds (ie Wizard and Mage). I'm not totally sure that will be included in what is mentioned in the above quote. It could just mean multiclass feats when it says "ways to gain some of the class features". Either way, I'll be looking forward to reading this article.

Man, if they give feats like

Missile Master
Requirement: Wizard, Cantrip class feature
Replace one of your Cantrips with Magic Missile.

That would be pretty cool.

I hope that together with this kind of feats, they also include updated versions for the "legacy" expertise feats for weapons and implements not covered in HotFL and HotFK.

I think it is both, worth a feat AND i think it would be fairer to allow all wizards to chose their cantrips to get suggestion and chose to forgo one cantrip and get MM.

But i stopped worrying about such and just allow wizards to train corellons boon as much as they like to get at wills as encounter powers. (Daily scratched!)

Since it's feats, and multiclassing is accomplished with feats, it's at least possible.

However, if there were a simple, fair way to do it, we'd've already seen it. More likely, it'll be clunky and inefficient. For instance, a Fighter wanting a Slayer Stance might need to take a McSlayer feat, and give up a daily as well as (or instaed of) an at-will.

I know that sounds crazy, but Fighters already have a Daily 1 - Unstoppable Advance, I think it is - that is just about identical to Hammer Hands (main difference is it aplies to other fighter powers, not just MBAs - a huge difference to a fighter, but meaningless to a Slayer)

If the stance remains at-will, I would gladly pay a daily power for that slow on MBA hit stance.
