ETA on NOW playtest

This might be too early but i have been very excited to see a playtest doc for the NOW game and i thought that is was going to be coming out soon. However the forum seems to have gone quiet on this part of the 3 part system sense the end of the kickstarter, or a week or so after it.

Did i miss something, is there any ETA for a N.O.W. playtest?

Oh, a good while yet. O.L.D. and N.E.W. had first drafts before the Kickstarter began. N.O.W. wasn't even conceived until towards the end of the Kickstarter, let alone written. It'll lag behind the other two by quite some time.

And just to check, NOW will use the same primary mechanics as the other two right? So considering all the major changes to the mechanics that just happened it might be worth holding off for a bit anyways, until things get more finalized, no?

Yup, same mechanics! Mike (who's writing N.O.W.) is familiarizing himself with the latest playtest document of N.E.W. as we speak.

okay thank you for the info and fast reply. i just have not seen or heard anything about it in a while and wanted to get some info on what was going on with it.

It's true! I'm on top of it; I have a lot of the martial artist careers done, and found a CHI system I like that is ripe for expansion.

GenCon is coming up and for a few weeks I will be insane, but expect to get some work done on this in August when I'm back from that (where Morrus and I can sit down face-to-face and get some things worked out right quick).

UPDATE!

Russ and I sat down at GenCon, bounced around ideas, and got some proper deadlines set up. Things are moving along at pace and there'll be something for folks to bite into around New Year's.

The "bestiary" is done, as is most of the playtest! Just popping my head in to let you folks know that I'm turning over my copy soon (before the weekend, I reckon).

I'm about 15 minutes late, but just sent the rough draft of the playtest to the man upstairs.
