I was lucky. I started my download shortly after it was posted and let it go until I woke up in the morning. That was about the last time that I was really able to even get to there site.
I finally finished downloading the patch last night (after 11 timeouts in a row -- thank goodness IE started where it left off each time).
Unfortunately it seems that the startup time for the application has increased dramatically --- it now displays the initial square splash screen (along with an hourglass cursor) for over a minute before finishing it's launch.
Is this expected behavior (monkeys) or something others have noticed?
Finally got it. Now if only I could get into the forums to post some questions! I was most curious about the additions to the help file -- I was expecting more from the DMG, for instance.
I will have the patch available sometime on Monday on d20zines.com after I get home from Origins. This will give everyone a solid mirror site and relieve some of the strain on Evil Monkey Mynex's servers. Have patience. Conventions do interefere with the way some folks can operate.
I grabbed the patch from codemonkey's website, but I used a piece of software called getright (www.getright.com), which automatically resumes if there is a timeout.
Makes life easy when grabbing a file from a stressed server.
