Etools question

Christovich

First Post
I recently read a post which had been closed by a mod without allowing anyone to comment claiming that the author was asking for pirated software. That is pretty unfair to assume that he was asking for illegal software (even if he was) as the only question asked was where could etools and data sets be found. Even if CMP does not support the software anymore there are still legitimate sources where you can buy copies of the program, or even purchase used ones from someone who no longer wants to use the program.

Shame on you mod.

I will ask the same question and perhaps we can make this a useful post and give the board users a chance to help direct some members to software sources. Thank you all.

WotC allowed CMP's license to expire. As such, they can no longer sell eTools or any more WotC-based closed-content datasets. I know that Paizo (at least as of yesterday) was still selling the eTools CDs. However, it has been asked on CMP's boards about selling datasets to other people. From what Lone Jedi has said, WotC is not allowing that because CMP no longer has the license.
