Sigh...so did i waste time writing him two Mithral Scimitars? could you vouch that since they give -3 Armour check penalty, that that rids that extra -2 penalty that you get for using medium weapons and for the fact that they are so light?

Weapons don't have armor check penalties.

Oddly enough, it's armor that has those.

No, you did not waste your time. You are absolutely free to make a house rule that mithril weapons reduce the penalties for two-weapon fighting. You could even drop the penalties for two-weapon fighting altogether, if you wish.

Or make one of the scimitars a light weapon by using a similar mechanic to the sunblade.

The way the FRCS got around this problem was by giving Drizzt a feat called "Twin Sword Fighting," which enabled him to use two medium weapons and still get the most favorable -2/-2 progression.

Whoops! Psi is right - I just looked at the stata block for Drizzt again (from the preview they gave of it online) and it looks like even he takes a -4/-4.

Anyway, having said that, I don't think it would be out of line to require a feat to treat a weapon as one catagory less than it is (making a scimitar a light weapon for a medium character, for example).
