Ever have party members start fighting each other while fighting enemies?

Last weekend, in a OA Compaign:
The Samurai makes several tactical mistakes, and at some time during the combat, the group`s neutral rogue is forcet to throw simple stones at his enemies. They are engaged with the Samurai (and other characters), and the player asked: "When I go to that square, does the samurai provides cover to the enemy, Right? I get there, and throw some stones" - Obvious intend was to "accidently" hit the samura - without really threatening him, but...

When PC's are fighting one another is the BEST time for an enemy to get the drop on them. The first time the enemy drops a forcecage on all of them, or casts the rock to mud spell that makes their tunnel collapse, that's when all party bickering is likely to end.

The situation described above does make for good role-playing, but if it gets beyond that, having the villains taking advantage of the party dissention is a good way for two foes to work together. How does the saying go about a shared danger?

One of the younger players in our games thinks it's a hoot to just randomly betray the party to their enemies...sometimes multiple times per character or adventure. The thing is the other players don't "take care" of the situtation the first time it happens, and he ends up doing it over and over.

My Bard (heading towards the Pimp PrC from the Netbook of UCK) is the only good (CG) in a neutral/evil party. Thus far, after being pushed too many times, he's kneed the LE mage in the place thats meant to only be treated nicely and KO'd him, and slapped up the thief quite good after making a comment of 'I didn't get hurt at least' when the bard was left to die in a burning building.

Funny thing is, whenever he touches one of the party members, its always a critical. The rogue took three attacks, 2 20s.

I'm usually the last person who wants to deal with party strife, but he's been stolen from, left to die, belittled and cheated thus far. It was payback time. ;)

*just starts dreaming of the Pimpslap bonus to subdual damage...*
