Ever just redo a players character sheet?

One of the players was absent from game this week, so he gave me the character sheet to run. It's a mess. I don't know how he finds anything on it. So, before next session when I give it back to him I am going to redo it. I'm keeping his like it is just in case he wants that, but I am also going to write a complewtely new one. One of the advantages is I'll catch some of the errors he's made. I already know he's one feat short and I think he messed up on his skills.

So, anyone else ever redo a players character sheet?

No way. I've got far better things to do. If I ever encounter a really messy/illegible character sheet I might just say "please clean this up." That being said, I doubt I ever would even bother; as long as the player can read his own sheet that's all I care about.

I "redo" all of my players' sheets into stat blocks. I post them online for the rest of the table to see and give kudos to players that find mistakes.

Nah, too much work.

Besides, I would hate if a DM did that to me (not that there would ever be a need ). Character sheet needs to feel personal. Soo .. I try to avoid doing onto my players anything I wouldn't want to be done to myself .. or something

nope. i keep referee notes. but i let the players keep their own mess.

if they want someone else to run their PC for them i let them handle that.

if they want me to run it. i do it from my notes if i can't read their sheets.

i'd get his PC killed if i were you then.

wipe the slate clean for him. it is the only way to be sure

Poorly done sheets drive me crazy.
If they're not at the game and their sheet is a mess, then their PC poofs out and get some good ribbing the next time they show.

I can't. I'm sure even if I tried it wouldn't work, the DM is not a killer and tyhe things we face are rarely hard. But it's fun!!

Heh, that's definitely something I'd do.

And I have done it. Someone had a sheet that was just a complete mess, so I redid it and discovered that they were missing a feat and like 3 levels worth of skill points.

I can't stand messy sheets. It's a bit of an OCD thing, I think. I redo my own character sheets every few weeks to keep them clean and spotless.

Plus I'm always tweaking my custom character sheets and every time I come up with a new version I transfer over.
