Ever used Action Figures to represent characters?

In a game that was non gride-based or in a game where you just wanted a frame of reference for where your character was, have you ever used them to represent your character? Ever tried to customize one to look like your character?

We used to use highly customized PlayMobil figures in one group.

Way back when, my brothers and I used Star Wars and GI Joe figures.

We have been known to use them from time to time but not in the way suggested. Smaller action figures are great for PCs that use enlarge or for giants.

I have a pocket dimention in my world where PCs are translated into 50 ft giants when they go there,Ive used action figures for the PCs.

We had a really fun battle one time in D6 Star Wars where we broke out all the old toys. My valiant tauntaun charge to take out the E-Web blaster across the living room carpet was EPIC!

Bottlecaps and extra dice are the most popular.

We tried shelled peanuts, but the players kept eating the party and made a big mess.

Shelled peanuts have since been banned from the table.

Plastic army men were often used to demonstrate marching order in D&D for us. Nobody wanted to be the minesweeper guy.
