How the he*l could the coffee cause third degree burns?? If Im not wrong, 180 degrees Fahrenheit = (180-32)/1,8= 82 degrees Celsius; that a fluid at 82 degrees C could melt away the entire skin down to the muscle sounds ridicolous. My aunt once got an entire teapot of boiling water over her legs, and she got second degree burns from it.
For heavens sake, the day you turn 18 you are allowed to vote for a government and get trained to kill, then why shouldnt you be able to handle a cup of coffee?!? It's not like I love Mc Donalds (the opposite way around, really), but in this case I think they should be allowed to keep their money.
For the Everquest event, the suicide was horrible and a tradegy, but to hold Sony responsible is shooting by the target. The man died from a suicide caused by mental disease and (probably) a very low self esteem. Maybe someone is to blame, but then it is either the mother or the boy. But more important then finding a scapegoat must be to look what can be done to stop these things in the future, and that is probably an action from politicians, not Sony.
