Evil network?

I'd vote for Fox as the least evil from that standpoint. I think Firefly's over-rated, and FOX really brought sci-fi TV back with the success of X-files. Without it, we may not have much in the way of sci-fi Network TV shows at all. And Fox let lots of other Sci-fi on the air that the major networks wouldn't touch until Fox proved they could be successful. Fox--of the major networks--is probably the most friendly to sci-fi programs.DreadPirateMurphy said:
I voted for UPN, because Voyager and the first three seasons of Enterprise had nearly killed Star Trek, and then they stuck the good fourth season of Enterprise in the time slot from the lower planes, and then cancelled the show for bad ratings.
Fox has cancelled lots of good, or at least promising, sci-fi/fantasy shows, but at least they got them on the air in the first place.

That makes no sense to me at all. "Is valueless"?
So if instead of putting those shows on and cancelling them, they instead they'd filled the slots with black-oriented sitcoms and Cops spinoffs -- you know, they're valueless afterall, so it doesn't matter what they'd show -- you'd still pick Fox as the most evil? Any good reason?

Oh, and another one for FOX (I know it's not Fantasy/Sci-Fi, but...): For not advertising "Arrested Development" well enough.

Fox has a mixed record, they put a whole lot of Fantasy/Sci-Fi programs on the air to begin with, way more than any other network, but they often mess with them big time, or cancel them quickly. It's like a Love/Hate relationship.
NBC wasn't exactly kind with how they abused SeaQuest and took it from being a pretty hard-science show into later being a "monster of the week" program. They also were responsible for slashing (Original) Battlestar Galactica's budget so harshly we got the atrocious Galactica 1980. They aren't innocent here.
UPN turned Voyager into the "Ogle Jeri Ryan" show, then abused Enterprise and ran it straight into the ground with atrocious scheduling. They also gave us "Homeboys in Outer Space", which is a separate offense.
TNT actively sabotaging and scuttling Crusade was their big sin, but they haven't had the repeated offenses of other networks. They aren't much of a Sci-Fi network in general though, they are more of The Law & Order Channel, that dabbled with B5 for a short while.
Of the four, I'll go with UPN, since they trashed the entire Star Trek franchise, Fox isn't blameless but they do also a lot of good to balance the shows they've wrecked, UPN hasn't gotten a single one right, ever.

Fox is bad for cancelling Firefly and Dark Angel. Sci Fi Channel is worse for cancelling Farscape and First Wave and then not picking up Firefly, Dark Angel or Enterprise. Unfortunately today, the networks are quick to pull the plug on new shows. They should give them more time to gain an audience.

I voted CBS, for that time they inturrupted CSI right at the end of the episode for a special report on the death of Yassar Arafat.
I find it incredibly odd that most people are voting Fox as the most evil because they cancelled Firefly/Futurama/Dark Angel/etc. Fox has proven that they're willing to experement with shows that the other major networks wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. Without Fox, none of the mentioned shows would have ever existed in the first place.
Plus, it should be mentioned that in an incredibly unconventional move, Fox un-cancelled Family Guy because the show was such a hit on DVD. They definately won a LOT of points with me when they made that move.

I'm not gonna vote at all because I find the idea of an "evil network" kind of silly. Business is business, and while I may love Firefly and Millennium to death, I just can't envision a cabal of mustache-twirling villains plotting those shows' premature demise from a hidden underground lair or something. Foolish and myopic maybe, but not EEEEVIL.
However, I will say that HBO could make a lot of fanboys' dreams come true by bringing their creative muscle to bear on genre television. It's really the only way I would want to see a project like Watchmen or Preacher done. So instead of tossing hate around, let's shine our heartlights at HBO and get them on board the fanboy gravy train.
