Fox has a mixed record, they put a whole lot of Fantasy/Sci-Fi programs on the air to begin with, way more than any other network, but they often mess with them big time, or cancel them quickly. It's like a Love/Hate relationship.

NBC wasn't exactly kind with how they abused SeaQuest and took it from being a pretty hard-science show into later being a "monster of the week" program. They also were responsible for slashing (Original) Battlestar Galactica's budget so harshly we got the atrocious Galactica 1980. They aren't innocent here.

UPN turned Voyager into the "Ogle Jeri Ryan" show, then abused Enterprise and ran it straight into the ground with atrocious scheduling. They also gave us "Homeboys in Outer Space", which is a separate offense.

TNT actively sabotaging and scuttling Crusade was their big sin, but they haven't had the repeated offenses of other networks. They aren't much of a Sci-Fi network in general though, they are more of The Law & Order Channel, that dabbled with B5 for a short while.

Of the four, I'll go with UPN, since they trashed the entire Star Trek franchise, Fox isn't blameless but they do also a lot of good to balance the shows they've wrecked, UPN hasn't gotten a single one right, ever.

If I recall correctly, the original Battlstar Galactica was on ABC.

Also, I can't blame a network for interrupting a TV show for a major news event -- even if it was one that many people expected.

To me, it is worse to produce a show and fail to support it than never to air it at all.

Yeah, going by the responses of this thread so far, it seems that a more accurate title for the poll would have been "Which network are you the most bitter towards because a show you liked didn't do well and got canceled and it's all the fault of those mean and/or stupid network executives who greenlighted it in the first place."

First, this is an obviously silly question. It was meant to be. I was interested in what folks had to say.

Second, greenlighting shows is good. Insisting that a sci-fi show be dumbed down to reach a broader audience shows a lack of understanding of the genre. Explicitly telling a show's creator to "add a fist-fight here" or "drop all this boring character exposition" is stupid. And networks do make stupid decisions based on politics and ego, just like any other company.

I voted Fox because of its long history of screw-ups: Firefly, Millennium, Space: Above and Beyond, etc.

I was tempted to vote for SciFi Channel because of those gawd-offal made-for-TV movies they've been showing so much the past year or so.
