Exalted Champloo - Episode 1 - "Intolerance"

Snow offered the girl a friendly smile, "Don't worry, you are safe. Are you alone down here?" She stepped forward towards the girl Ivory Rain resting casually on her shoulder, when something snatched the girl up. In a flash the gold and ivory spear twirls around, it's long blade slicing towards the assailant.

He frowns as he casts his eyes around the area, his eyes glow as he looks beyond the darkness, his eyes almost piercing the veil of it, seeing what lies in the depths.

He smirks as he looks for what he can see, "I'd say bite me, but you'd probably enjoy it."

He has his weapon ready, but seems more intent on knowing what they're facing than in actually going into battle.

OOC: Sorry, wasnt moving toward her(guess I didnt make that clear enough), was just pulling the food out of his pack slowly, so as to not startle her. Oh well, too late now.

Join Battle Rolls: Dancing Snow 7, Alamar 3, Silent Wind 1, Wyld-Touch Girl, Zombies 0; Dancing Snow – Tick 0, Alamar – Tick 4, Silent Wind, Wyld-Touch Girl, Zombies – Tick 6.

Tick 0

With exquisite speed Dancing Snow covers the distance and puts her dire lance clean through the rotting corpse that dares to put a hand on the Lawbringer’s new charge! The force of the attack shatters the decaying shambling corpse…

The young girl looks up at Dancing Snow with almond eyes… awe in her eyes at the glow on her forehead… and the power of her attack! But there are more shambling figures already approaching… at least six if not more in number!

Dancing Snow rolls 5 successes, she hits giving her a total of 14 dice for damage. The Zombie’s soak removes only 1 die, being an extra it is obliterated by her extreme skill! She acts again on Tick 5.

Tick 4

Alamar opens his senses, the glory of the Unconquered Sun coursing through his body. He can see that which is hidden from mortal eyes. He can see frightened ghosts moving away from the battle… but on a ruined building directly ahead overlooking the battle he sees a single figure its cloak billowing as it watches the battle in earnest…

Alamar uses Spirit Detecting Glance, he then Guards. He will act again on Tick 8 unless he aborts to something else.

Tick 5

Dancing Snow may act again, the zombies are all within about five to ten feet of the Dawn Caste!

He smiles, and realizes this was both a chance to show some of his own skill, that, and to test Temari's skill with the bow.

"Temari, can you hit spirits with that bow?"

He smirks, almost taunting her, "If so, I've got a target for you." He quickly describes where the target is, his weapon being used as a pointing tool, but he makes it flow as if he's keeping his muscles loose and ready to avoid any incoming attack. "No need for voyeurs, now is there?"

OOC: Will abort depending on whether or not Temari fires at the target, and if she does, on what the watching figure does. But yeah, guarding for now.

"They're not as scary as they look", she smiles playfully at the girl before bounding up towards the other zombies. In a whirlwind of silk as she brings Ivory Rain around in a wide swipe, its Orichalcum tip slicing deeply into the surrounding zombies. She lands on her feet with practiced ease, the haft of her spear already moving to block any incoming attacks.

Two-Die Stunt! 4 Successes on the first attack, 5 Successes on the next attack, and 6 Successes on the final attack! Three zombies drop from the damage!

Dancing Snow in a whirlwind of spinning gold and silk. In one perfect motion she ends her dance of destruction. Three zombies collapse into heaps at her feet dainty feet. But the noxious smell of death is getting to her, but she maintains her bearing amidst the grotesque odor!

Dancing Snow makes a Stamina + resistance roll and gets 2 successes! She is fine and will act on Tick 10.

Tick 6

One-Die Stunt! She gets 5 successes on the attack and does enough raw damage to destroy the zombie outright! She will act again on Tick 10.

Silent Wind takes the head of a zombie as she rushes forward, her short blade ripping through the dead flesh and decayed bone of the zombie. It collapses after taking a few tentative steps forward into a heap.

Somewhere deeper in the residential ruins a roar bellows, “MEAT!”

The little girl huddles close to Silent Wind, her ears attentive and flexing to hear but she makes no sound…

The lone zombie shambles forward and tries to strike Silent Wind down! But the clumsy strike misses the mark, but somewhere deeper in the ruins, something is smashing its way towards the Circle…

The Zombie rolls 2 successes and misses, it will act again on Tick 11.

Grinning ferally at the near miss, and at her previous success, Temari dives forward turning it into a roll that brings her shortsword forward and up in a diagonal arc across the zombies ribs. The graceful night caste didn't even allow her momentum to slack as she came out of her roll, instead, she spun around like a tope with her blade extended to remove the offending zombie's head.

"I can see no figure up there Alamar...are you sure there is one to be seen?" she calls out looking to where the lance was pointing. "Even I cannot hit what I cannot see old man."

Flurry:
2 Attacks (10 -2/-3) 8, 7
Speed (4); Accuracy (10); Damage (8L)

DDV: 6(8-2) if she is attacked, 1 mote for shadow over water

Will Power: 5/6
Personal Essence: 12
Periphereal Essence: 17/18

Alamar can act again.

Hoping to clear up some breathing space for the others, for either a fight against that monstrous beast obviously on its way or the shadowy figure he was moving toward, he lunged forward, moving quickly, his lance spinning, tearing a wide gash through one, and without pause, using the momentum to split the other in half like a soggy watermelon.

OOC: Flurry to do this, moving into range, and then attacking two seperate zombies.

Move + Attack + Attack

((dont have my sheet handy, will adjust the numbers later.))

Tick 8

One-Die Stunt! Alamar rolls 3 successes and 4 successes for the second attack. He kills two zombies with ease! His DV is reduced by 2.

Alamar slices neatly into the remaining zombie and then uses his reach to spear another just rising from the ruins! There is a brief silence before something rattles the landscape and the sound of falling debris is heard, followed by a bloodcurdling roar!

A pillar goes sailing overhead and smashes into the entrance that the Circle entered effectively blocking the one way they know out! The pillar must weight several tons and rattles the chamber!

The Dead Mauler makes a Join Battle action, it rolls 3 successes, and will act on Tick 12!

It becomes visible in the light provided by Dancing Snow and Silent Wind, the Circle can see a brute standing at over fifteen feet in height with thick ropy arms. In one hand it holds a massive maul splattered with gore and viscera, in the other a battered shield. Its massive body enshrined in black pitted armor plates over dead stitched flesh.

It stands about thirty feet from the Circle, behind a low ruined home. It bellows, “MEAT!”
