Exalted Feats

Just a quick question about the Book of Exalted Deeds. My DM says Exalted Feats do not require regular feat slots because they are given away by Celestials.

I do not have my books here, but I never read the Exalted feats didn't take up any feat slots (and just can't believe that would be true). Can anyone help out?

By the book, an exalted feat is still a feat. You have to use up a feat slot if you want one. That said, if your DM is going to give them out as freebies for being a good guy, go for it!

Hong "is always right" Ooi. Same as normal feats.

The only requirements for Exalted feats are good alignment, and DM's permission.
