Excellent Uses of Existing OGC

So as I'm reading Iron Heroes I'm left thinking that it's nice to see the reserve point system from Unearthed Arcana built directly into a core rules system. And that leaves me wondering about other truly fantastic uses of existing OGC.

Any suggestions?

Reprinted. It might be slightly modified from UA, but it seems to be pretty much the same: 1 RP can be exchanged for 1 hp in one minute, RP are restored at a rate of Con+level for 8 hours of rest (a full day of rest restores double that). There is a note thar unless otherwise noted, only creatures with levels in the Iron Heroes PC classes get RP, not monsters or creatures with levels in things like Commoner or Aristocrat.

I've been a fan of those rules since they were first introduced in Omega World. Its one of the elements of UA that I was REALLY excited to see released.

Does Iron Heroes reprint the reserve points rules or do you need to have UA?

As others have said, reprinted. They are rewritten slightly but they're basically the same rules.

I thought the Black Company Campaign Setting made excellent use of divers OGC elements, especially d20 Modern and Unearthed Arcana, to model the BC books.

Grim Tales also did a great job of cherry-picking good pieces from d20 Modern, d20 fantasy, Spycraft, Mutants and Masterminds, and several other sources, to create a coherent grim-and-gritty system.

Have you looked at the Section 15's for books like Arms & Armor v3.5, Pale Designs: A Poisioner's Handbook, and Torn Asunder: Critical Hits? ;)

I think the Section 15 on A&A 3.5 is larger than some entire d20 products...

Ditto.

The funny thing is that I remember, when OW first came out, Mearls posting (here, iirc) that (paraphrased) "reserve points are such a brilliant idea I can't believe no one has stolen it for use in another RPG yet." :)
