Exercise: Extoic character backround

DungeonMaester

First Post
So, over the summer I have read Dante's inferno, Paradise lost and Joan of Arc (by Mark Twain) And I got to thinking....

What if you could play a character that was predestined to become a saint/demigod/other supernatural creature of great power and importance.

If you where playing in my forth coming campaign setting where if you where able to become a demigod like character in some way at higher levels through predestiny (aka a approved backstory) what would you choose.

As far as game mechanics would be concerned it would be a normal 1st ed rule set with the exception that the dm gives you a extra power every few levels that is relavent to you reaching your goal. It functions like getting a class abilty essentially.

My latest character along those lines was an aasimir paladin, son of Heironeous. My next one, should I get the chance, would be a lowly mortal bard/cleric who is destined to become the Voice of God. :)
