Looks like WotC have done what people wanted and made a fairly decent sounding psionics book this time around. I want this book now more than I ever did.

Hard to say, it seems like at a glance, that instead of being Wizard clones with MAD spell selection, Psions will be cleric clones with Domain like disciplines...

A core set of discplines may be good, but at the same may be creating a troubling situation (ie, cleric templates) and a genericism in template structure similiar to sorcerers...

Actually if they ditch the goth-feel to psions this time around it looks like psy will make an excellent replacement for arcane in many people's campaigns.

This sounds good so far. I'm intrigued about the changes to psionic combat. If it is done away with entirely I'll probably continue using Mindscapes.

Goth feel?

I could see making s comment about comic booky or X-Men feel to the psionics, but goth? I don't get the connection.

Yes, I'm psyched about the EPsiHB.

One other little tidbit mentioned in the article is Overchanneling. You can increase your manifestor (caster) level by sacrificing HP.

At 1st level: increase by one level @ 1d8 hp.
At 8th level: increase by two levels @ 3d8 hp.
At 15th level: increase by three levels @ 5d8 hp.

Overchanneling? That is SO Wheel of Time, but still cool as hell!!

Like Tien in the Cell Saga using his tribeam over and over and over again and almost dieing. (DBZ) Anyone else equate psionics with ki?
