Expanded Oriental Adventures

I'm not saying that the well has run dry on ideas. Some of the other environment books sound interesting and I'm curious to see what other books in the Heroes of come out.

It's just I feel that OA could be a bigger seller and since they've already set the precedence by doing Expanded Psionics...

Possibly my limited knowledge of the OGL, but since AEG pulled out on the d20 bis, isn't an update going to require extensive reworking. The entire model was based on the Rokugan setting. WotC could keep the numbers, but isn't everything else intellectual property of AEG?

Just the trademarks. Just delete all reference to L5R/Rokugan from the material.

BTW, they may have pulled out of the d20 biz, but their products remain OGL-applied. Again, just avoid using designated PI and just use designated OGC. Whether you want to exercise their "goodies" clause is totally up to you.

Isn't that nearly all the flavor text (clans, leaders, etc)?

Not an arguement, I really don't know.

I would snap up an updated OA with Kara-Tur or not. Are there any rumours of this actually happening?

On Dragon Fist, over at the Green Ronin forums one of the moderators said the other day "we're expecting to see a turnover on the manuscript in a matter of weeks". I have no idea if that means an actual product is six months or a year away or what, but at least stuff is happening.

That is another one which whenever it finally appears will get my $. No point getting excited about it just yet though.

Expanded Oriental Adventures? Heck yeah!

Kara Tur included? Hell no! I would rather see a very limited amount of setting material. Go ahead and release a Kara Tur book, I will ignore it but a lot of other people will like it. But put the OA material in a seperate book.

IIRC, the way it was worded in the Rokugan book, you can still use a limited amount of IP, when it's part of a mechanics' name.
For example, if you have a spell named, err, *invent an example* Toturi Yamamoto's Little Spell Thingie, despite Toturi Yamamoto being IP (name of an IP character), you can use it, as long as it's just as part of that spell's name.

That's different from WotC's approach of Mordenkainen's sword/mage sword. Of course, WotC's model let them do that, while other publishers can't.

I totally agree, and if they did add the wuxia chapter you described even better. While I like the Rokugan stuff as very new, I would love to see an updated Kara Tur.

Infact a chapter on how to run and east meets west type game would be very intresting indeed, and harken back to the old 1e Kara Tur module.

On last thing Kara Tur is not, repeat not in the Forgotten Realms.
Never felt appopriate to the very celtic flavored FR, at least the true FR as was revealed by Greenwoods Dragon articles.

Kara Tur was always a very mysterious other land, in GH.
