D&D 5E Expansion Rules Gift Sets start to show up in the wild.

Yeah, I don't know how I would level up the spells basically. Unless write in next to em (as a 6th level upcasted slot or what not.)
I'd with something like: 1 use gives you the spell at its lowest level, 2 uses to use it as upcasted by 1 slots (or the next possible upcast)

Just put the upcasted level next to the spell that will be upcasted.
Like say Cure Wounds you would have (6th level) next to it. That is how it’s been done for innate spell casting.

And how would the Drow Matron, using Hold Person, be able to target/hold an additional Humanoid without Spell Slots? Or Cure Wounds herself for additional HP, or even her allies if she felt like it?

Like any other spellcaster would. If she upcast hold person to 4th level, it would use one of the three slots available for 4th level spells, leaving her with two slots left to cast any of those four 4th level spells, or any other spells upcast to that level...

Looks like, after seeing a number of monsters, especially the Archdevils and demons, it seems like the trait Magic Weapon is officially outta here.

Instead, the attacks have been "updated* to incorporate the trait in a more streamlined fashion by having it be represented as Force Damage instead of Bludgeon, Piercing, Slashing in the damage type portion of the monster stat blocks. Which pretty much "boosts" the attack powers of those that have that by making it harder to resist. (Sucks for you Barbarians.)

That rather increases the value of magic items that grant force resistance, and the bear totem.

Newbie dm will do a stream flip through tonight.

Also the non special cover books in the gift set are foil covers. Which will only be in the gift set.

Got a package just now and I thought somehow, I was lucky enough that my copy came in because of a technical mess up.

Turns out its the rest of my kickstarter add-ons for backing the 5E Stargate RPG. And I must say, I think the D4 Stargate dice is perhaps the most deadly D4 dice in the existence of dice. And heaven help ya if you somehow step on it.

So, for those that know, is Mordekainen's also going to include class items (and I suppose the races from it as well while we are at it) from SCAG or is that something we still should get separately if we are buying a new set of books?
