Explain "concept cars" to me.

From what I understood of concept cars, it was basically a car that had all the designers and engineers latest ideas thrown together in the one car. You will almost certainly never see a concept car go into production as is, but you will probably see certain features from that car (most likely the ones that are affordable and get a good public reaction) make it into other production cars that the company makes.

It really depends- the concept version of the Alero probably would have been more expensive than the Nissan Z it resembled, and rightly so. It was full of high-end leathers, real wood & chrome, and had a high HP engine (that's HORSEPOWER, not Hit Points! )- the production model was more like the Neon than a Nissan.

OTOH, from what I recall, the original VW Bug concept remake was nearly identical to the first production version...as I recall, including the bud vase.
